Olexandra (33)

I heard volunteers mentioning a woman with a cat. They told me she's in a very bad shape. Psychologically. She's been crying a lot and had a hard time trusting other people. One of the volunteers came to her with great news, telling her that they found a job for her. In a stonemasonry, so it would be within her skills and profession. Olexandra kept asking again and again if it was true. Whether those people really agreed to employ her. I have offered to talk to her. It helps to talk, especially when you are feeling down. I came to her with a small bag consisting of make up, eye shadows, lipstick, nail polish, a small perfume and told her that I am sure she will need it to look her best on her first day at her new job. Her reaction was overwhelming. And I had the feeling, that she started to believe that everything is going to be fine again.
"I come from the town of Rubezhnoe in the Luhansk region. I came to Slovakia on March 3, 2022. My mother stayed at home, as she is a disabled person. I'm trying to keep in touch with her as much as possible. The town and its surroundings are being bombed often, so the internet connection does not always work. My heart is bleeding when I imagine what is going on in there."
"I don't know where I'm going, I don't have any plans yet. I like Slovakia, I would like to find a job here and get my mom here to safety. I really want to go home."
"If I could pass something on to the people of Russia, I would ask them what it is all about? They are separating fathers from their children, children from their families, does it do any good? Why are they doing that? Let them let us live and give us peace!"
